Childswork game

As part of my writing contributions over at the fabulous Childswork blog, every month or so they will be sending me something to review and offer to you.

This month we had the chance to test out the Angry Monster Machine board game. The game retails at $54.95 and is for ages 5-10 but my kids ages 5 to 17 loved it.

The premise of the game is to discuss different situations and the feelings associated with them as the kids select different cards. Some cards they act out themselves and some cards they get to act out through shaping little monsters out of clay.

It was interactive and insightful.

The kids loved answering the questions and shaping the clay and I loved hearing their answers. I heard about things that happened at school instead of getting a “nothing” when I ask what they do each day and they learned new ways to express themselves.

My oldest, who tends to have trouble appropriately expressing her frustration, learned lots of new ways to cope and techniques to try.

And all of this happened from a family game night, it doesn’t get much better than that.

I’m thrilled to offer the Angry Monster Machine Game to one lucky reader.
