To continue lighting my fire and yours I wanted to share a moment from our house yesterday…
-What is that Mommy?
That is Hadley’s blanket, sweetie. See her name right there?
-It has pink and an H.
Yes, it does.
-When is she coming to get it?
And my son found the words before I could…
-She’s not coming Kenna. She can’t reach it from the sky.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to every single one of you who read my words yesterday. Did you see the amazing comments I received and the amount of money that was donated within 24 hours? That is insane, wonderfully insane. I am in awe and feel loved and supported, my daughter remembered. I will never be able to express what the thoughts and encouragement and donations mean to me and to the many other families holding on to an empty blanket.

Ahh, Parker is so sweet!
Oh my goodness. That broke my heart. So sweet.
Jessica, this will sound unreal, but I swear it is true. The most amazing thing just happened. As I read your son's reply, a huge ray of sunlight flooded my desk then went away. Coincidence?
GOOSEBUMPS!
Nope. Not a coincidence.
Aww.. how sweet that your son found the words to explain it to his sister.. So touching. I'm not good with comfort words – but I hope that you reach your goal.. You're daughter would be so proud of you & her siblings.
Thank you, I like to think that she is proud of us, I hope so anyway.
Yaaay, you are very close to your target, well done 🙂
Awww to what you son said, so simple and so very touching. Jen xx
I don't have words to comfort you or to say anything insightful. Your blog posts (yesterday and today) are beautiful, painful and thought provoking. I hope it is cathartic for you, in as much as it can be. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thank you for reading Kelly and for your kind words.
