Have I ever mentioned before that my husband can dance?
He’s sort of that guy who all of the women want to dance with because he actually can.
You would think that this was one of those qualities that drew me to him instantly but actually it terrified me.
I happen to be one of the few women in the world who does NOT like to dance and I was always afraid he would pull me out on a dance floor and try to teach me to swing dance in front of a crowd (did I mention I hate being in front of a crowd too?).
So besides being a good dancer and a good Daddy he is dedicated to his job and would do just about anything for his staff and students.
Last night was their talent show and I was amazed at the dedication of a group of teachers who put together an act at the end of the show.
All of their students cheered and yelled, you would have thought we were at a rock concert.
But then? When someone entered the stage with a few surprise moves, the place went crazy…
Sorry about the shaky camera work, three kids, an iPhone and watching your husband do The Worm, makes it a little tough to keep steady.
He was the hit of the night. Nevermind that he needed a heavy does of ice and aspirin when we got home.
Our kids could barely contain themselves, his students screamed themselves hoarse, and really?
I couldn’t love him more.

So funny. Does he know you’ve posted this on the internet?
Ha! How awesome!! Dear lord, I think I would break something if I tried that! O.o
Me too, I’m totally not coordinated enough to attempt it!
So sweet. What a great guy, I think you should keep him.
That.is.frickin.awesome! This post made me so happy–the worm was awesome!
I hate to be out there dancing in front of people too! Oh Lord! And Todd? He LOVES it! Terrifies me because I do NOT want to go out on that dance floor for anything!
Really? I thought it was just me. So can we go to a blogging conference together and not dance?
Um…AWESOME!!!
wow! he’s a great dancer!! it’s funny what they’ll do all in the name of entertaining children isn’t it? đ
That was fantastic to watch. There was a big grin on my face. I love how excited kids get when they realise how fun adults can be.
I remember seeing Mark’s dancing abilities for the first time at your wedding. Your wedding dance was amazing and choreographed to perfection. You hid your fears quite well that day and danced beautifully. I’m sure part of it was having Mark as your dance teacher and partner, but the other part was your love for each other that made the dance perfect!
That’s why he’s the best boss in the world! The kids were still talking about it today – and so were the parents! đ
Jessica, this is awesome! How fun. Dude’s definitely got some moves.
He actually used to run a “Swing Dance Club” at school, if she starts it up again maybe your husband can join.
That gave me goosebumps! How awesome!!
It was great, I knew he was going to do something but was amazed at the show they put on.
You’re right, he can dance!! So fun.
That was awesome! It made me want to cheer too! I would have had a crush if he were my middle school teacher; love fun teachers! = ) How fun for you all.
There’s always starry eyed girls (and a few moms) coming up to him at school. So funny!
That was great, he really has some moves. I am sure you kids and his students won’t forget that.
The kids think he is still dancing at work today. My son asked if “Daddy is still on the stage.”
I am so impressed. Seriously.
I was too, I’ve seen him before but never in front of an auditorium of screaming middle schoolers. I was a rock star wife for two whole minutes until I headed to my van with melting down kids.
*Such* a sweet ode to your guy!
I love that he danced, I love that he’s a rock star.
*Sigh* This is the good stuff, isn’t it?
That was fantastic!
I watched it at work so I had to turn the music off but it was still awesome!
I even danced with them.
He’s very talented.
I can’t even run up the stairs anymore.
Huh.
I should work on that.
This is outstanding. You hold onto that man, now. He’s a keeper for sure.
OMG! How awesome is that? I can’t even imagine my hubby doing that stuff…hahaha
I rent him out for parties :).
So much fun to watch!!
Better than Glee. Watching that +listening to that = an amazing love story. xo
So funny Tracy, I’ve heard, more than once that he looks like the teacher on Glee. Maybe he can join the cast (as soon as he can sing).
Best sentence is the last one…quite the team you two make!
Hysterical!
And FYI, I hate dancing too. David and I got in a fight at every single wedding we ever attended because I refused to dance with him. We had one vacation in 2003 where we had three weddings in three weeks. It was a tense time! =)
So funny! I don’t think I’ve met another female that doesn’t like dancing. We’re fun dates, huh?
WOW! He can dance. That was awesome!!!
and you make a great cheerleader there in the background!
a keeper fo sho’ đ
