I am still giddy over our Halloween this year.
Not just from all of the sugar I’ve ingested,
or the fact that I was able to pull off a theme for one more year,
or the one picture we were able to snap of Ms. Teenager,
or the view of my parents soaking up our Halloween,
or the melt-my-heart cuteness of the “Wick or Weeet” shouted by my two year old at every doorstep,
or the we-are-old-enough-to-actually-remember-what-happens-on-this-day excitement from my growing four year olds.
I am swooning from the sparkle of it all, the magic of motherhood on a holiday.
The wonder of creating moments I can only hope will beย tucked as warmly in their memories,
as they will be in mine.
Linking up for Boo! in the blogosphere with myself and Sellabitmum, hope you are too!

There’s nothing like celebrating a holiday and seeing it through your children’s eyes.

Amazing–Just found your blog, and it’s inspirational. I agree–i always hope this holiday will be as special to them as it is to me. Whatever the holiday is!

We had a great halloween too – so much fun. I love that you were able to do themed costumes. Kudos!
Miss Marina Star says
Your sentiments of creating memories for your children to cherish are beautifully written. I feel the same way about creating magical moments for mine as well.
Great theme costumes! I always want my kids to dress together in a theme but have the hardest time doing it because of their age difference. With all the great ideas I’ve gotten from my bloggy friends I am going to try harder next year!
Charity says
Never even thought of doing a theme with my three girls and with the oldest one now 5 I’ve probably missed my chance…bummer. I love your theme!
Lanie says
Very impressive that you pulled off the theme. I tried but my 4 year old twins would not have any part of a theme this year.
Thank you for commenting on my blog and for giving me the warning about your Sawyer. He is adorable and I look forward to reading more about him. Take care.
Jessica says
I have a feeling this is the last year we will be able to do it. My surviving triplets just turned 4 and I was surprised we talked my daughter into being Jessie. So glad you stopped by. Looking forward to keeping up with you and your blog.
Shell says
I love Halloween!
And love the theme. We did Mario characters this year. ๐
Jamie says
GREAT pictures! I’m going to try a theme next year… I need to start thinking about it now though! Ha!
Grace says
They are so lovable!! And the concept is great! This is the initial Halloween that I went with the kids to trick or deal with and it was so a lot enjoyable, I absolutely loved it! Thanks!
Julie @DutchBeingMe says
Love Toy Story – and that it’s a theme at your house. So fun!!
Ann says
Love the theme!! They all look adorable! Much nicer than my devil/goddess/flower monster theme!! LOL!
Amanda Austin says
This was my first holiday with mybaby…well, not true. My first holiday was Christmas last year and he was just a little blob ๐ But this was my first holiday where he could sit up and babble and was more cognizant of what was going on and I loved every second of it. You hit the nail on the head…it IS magic for the parents as much as the kids. Love your theme!
Rach (DonutsMama) says
I’m loving all the creative themes. Of course your littles look so adorable!
Kristin @ What She Said says
Oh, this was so sweet. I’m glad you had fun. I remember feeling that way last year (while this year I’ve been a total downer).
And your kids? Ah-freaking-dorable!
Sarah says
Love these. How awesome! Sounds like a great night!
Runnermom-jen says

You make such cute babies.
All of them!

This just melted my face off.
I had to show Chunky and he just about squeeeeed in delight. Toy Story is his favourite behind Scooby Doo.
Kelly K @ Dances with Chaos says
I cannot wait for the year I get to watch both children trick-or-treat.
We meet up with friends each year and my son is now in the “trick-or-treat spring” category.
My two year old Lil Diva is in the “slow but I lasted longer and charmed everyone with my “tick-oh-teat” and “thank you” they kept giving me extra candy so I actually received more than my brother” category.
She absolutely loved it and both children took so much joy in the decorations as well.
The highlight was her realizing she was actually getting candy and for a few houses, switching from “tick-oh-teat” to “I want candy… peeze.” She had people in stitches….
Jessica says
So cute, your daughter sounds a lot like my youngest. He got chips at one house and he was staring in his bag yelling \”tato chips, tato chips\” like it was the best thing he had ever received.
Lane says
Great costumes! Isn’t Halloween just awesome?! I have a 20-month-old and watching her was precious. It’s so cute that your two-year-old said, “Wick or weet!” Babies are wonderful!
Karen says
Love the costumes and I’m loving your blog!!
Jessica says
Thanks so much Karen.
Mrs. Wonder says
I think it would be so fun to all dress as a theme! maybe I can get my husband in on it for a family affair next year.
Elena says
So very sweet! I’m glad it was a great Halloween. And yay for pulling off a theme for one more year. I don’t know why I never thought of doing it but I’m going to see if the boys will go for it next year. I’m sure it will be very Star Wars’esque. ๐
Jessica says
Parker is already talking about being Batman next year so I\’m thinking I could get Sawyer to be Robin but I will be pushing my luck to get McKenna to go with a theme for one more year.
Christine @ Quasi Agitato says
I never thought of a theme! What a great idea. I guess last year was a Star Wars theme but it doesn’t count because it was my son’s idea ๐
They look fantastic.
I am loving this link up. So fun.
Elaine says
Are you kidding me?! They are so cute as the Toy Story characters! Love it! I was thinking of making my boys be characters from The Wizard of Oz since K was Dorothy but my oldest was so intent on being a pirate that I gave up on that idea.
Glad you all had a fun and happy Halloween! ๐
Jessica says
Mine did Wizard of Oz last year, loved it, but they were even younger and easier to talk into whatever costume I wanted :).
Tonya says
Darling!! I hope you can keep up the themed costumes for another year or four. ๐
I especially love these since Lucas and I just watched all THREE Toy Story movies recently. I had never seen them and I’m in love.
Jessica says
We watch them over and over and over. I\’m hoping I can pull off a theme for a few more years too but not sure it\’s going to happen.
Barbara says
What an awesome theme! You have the cutest cast of Toy Story I have ever seen! I agree, just seeing the excitement and joy in my son’s face this year was magical!
Greta says
Oh my gosh, they all look so cute together! Glad you had a great Halloween!
Linking up first thing tomorrow (with my random collection of costumed kids). You have great prizes to give away!
Ashley says
Oh my word at the utter adorableness. Love!!!
Branson says
So much cuteness! I definitely felt the magic of motherhood this year as well ๐
Nicole says
They are so adorable! Love the theme!

It was so much fun! They are at such a great age.
Jen says
Such sweeties! One of these years, I want to do a theme costume with the kids.
Klz says
We made some pretty great memories yesterday too. Happy holidays to you an yours – I just love this time of year.
Kir says
Ohhh do you really think my kids won’t dress up like Law & Order detectives next year????? Even if I beg? ๐
Your kiddos looked adorable, the costumes were perfect and every picture was so sugary sweet and filled with love that my teeth are aching. I could feel you joy and I love that, that somewhere you are smiling! Xoxo
Jessica says
I think we smiled all night, definitely our best Halloween yet. Maybe we can start a little competition to see who can keep up the themes the longest. Although I am at a total disadvantage because I have a girl and then tend to come with an extra does of stubborn.
Jill @ Mommy Inconsistent says
What a sweet post! Love the costumes and the “Wick or Weeet”…I can just picture him saying that. Adorable!
Jessica says
He was SO cute, every house we went to he said it a little bit different. By the last one I think he almost started \”trick\” with a \”t.\”
Stephanie says
They are so adorable!! And the theme is great!
This is the first Halloween that I went with the kids to trick or treat and it was so much fun, I absolutely loved it!
Making It Work Mom says
A good Halloween is definitely magical. Love the pictures!
angela says
I love themes, and we haven’t done them ๐ Last year we borrowed a costume for Dylan, and this year it just didn’t work. She really wanted to be a princess, and she really wanted him to be a monkey.
Wait, maybe our theme is “Abbey’s the Boss?”
It looks like you had a perfect night; I was so glad the weather basically cooperated!
Jessica says
The weather was great wasn\’t it? I thought for sure we would be stuffing winter coats under costumes. I was really surprised I got McKenna to go with the theme. I have a feeling next year she will want to be a princess.
angela says
Hmm, maybe you can get the boys to be knights. That’s kind of a theme ๐
Kimberly says
They are so cute! My 2 youngest were both pirates, but my oldest was way too cool to participate. Sigh. ๐
Galit Breen says
Yes, this. Exactly this. Magical, indeed!
tracy says
OMG I love a theme. Our themes lasted until Eloise turned five and decided she didn’t want to be like her sister. Sob.
Emmy says
This is awesome! Maybe next year I will be able to get my kids all to coordinate…. probably not- didn’t happen this year.
And yes, it is so fun and magical for kids and should be.
Jessica says
I didn\’t think I was going to be able to pull it off this year. I have a feeling this will be our last.
