I had big goals for today.
It is my husband’s birthday and since I never have anything done ahead of time I had to work on his birthday gift with three small children who are banned from most shopping malls in tow.
Putting my hours on Pinterest to good use, I picked a few cute photo ideas to try.
First there was the balloon shot,
but…
The sun was in her eyes.
He just thought I looked funny standing on a chair taking his picture.
And HE needed a pillow for his head, a stick in his hand and a nap.
But then I struck thank-goodness-I-don’t-have-to-drag-them-into-a-store gold with this idea:
Barefoot in the grass with me drawing on their feet with marker? Yes please. (The only one who said no thank you was the teen. Hmph.)
Happy Birthday to an amazing husband and father.
I hope that you feel as loved as you are.

oh, I do love this idea!!! That is my kind of gift & I may just have to “borrow” it one day! ๐
I was laughing at the balloon shots – those look so darn cute on Pinterest but honestly I know I could NEVER pull it off! My girls would not enjoy laying down in the street with the sun in their eyes – I can hear the complaints already ๐
Thanks for linking to the Sunday Showcase & sharing your creative fun! I hope to see you back – http://momto2poshlildivas.blogspot.com/search/label/Sunday%20Showcase

Such adorable ideas! I wonder if I could get mine to sit still. Might have to steal this idea!
Would love to see how they turn out if you try it.
It is most definitely the thought that counts. Hope your husband had a wonderful birthday!
I think he did, he loved the photos and took them to work.
I love this ๐ (And I might steal it)
You can definitely steal it!
Aw! Those balloon photos are hilarious (fab idea though!) but the feet are just too sweet. Happy (late) birthday to your hubby!

Isn’t pinterest awesome ๐ Cute pictures! I am sure your husband will love them. And as pro photographer- it is way harder getting pictures of your own kids than other people’s kids ๐
That was a fantastic idea….loved loved those pictures (and the idea!!!)
Happy Birthday to your hubby!
So sweet! What a beautiful gift idea. I laughed out loud at the “pillow for his head, stick in his hand and a nap” bit.

Awww. I love these sooo much. Definitely something I will be doing for Kenny.
So cute! I personally think the first balloon pic is great, sun or no sun. She looks like she’s floating away. ๐
That was my favorite too. She\’s my direction follower ;).
These are great, now if I could only get all four of mine to stay in the same frame…
It is close to impossible isn\’t it? They were so excited about getting their feet drawn on that I got a few in before they took off.
Bummer that Ashlyn didn’t want to do it.
BUT.. at least you still got a great pic out of it.
It’s a really great idea AND I’m pinning it.
Happy Birthday to your hubby

It is great, well worth the time for the ideas that you will get out of it.
Good Heavens, your children are gorgeous!
And your husband is blessed. ๐
I love it! I wonder if my kids would let me draw on their feet?
Happy birthday to your husband.
Such a sweet gift! Happy birthday to your hubs!
Those came out great! I bet he loved them. The best gifts I ever get are the free ones.
Oh, how lovely! What a creative idea! Do you mind if I steal the idea? ๐
Not at all, would love to see how they turn out!
I LOVE this and I am stealing it :-).
If you do a post about it let me know, would love to see your pics.
What great photos!! I love the “We love you” on the feet!! That is just too precious.
I LOVE THESE PHOTOS! The drawing on their feet? Brilliant AND adorable! Seriously – these are worthy of a frame and a place over the mantle!
Already framed :). The pictures in my husband\’s office are so old they don\’t even include my youngest so I framed them so he could take them there.
So adorable! What great ideas my pinterest queenie friend. xoxo
I love it. I really don\’t have any creativity, Pinterest just helps me fake it.
What adorable ideas! I love this!
Now that is too cute. Hmmm…hubs’s bday is Friday. I gotta take some pictures fast!
Go for the feet idea, not the balloons or just stick a bow on her head and snap some shots :).
SO cute!!!
I also love that the first comment was from your husband. My husband STILL makes fun of my blog, and never reads it.
Happy Birthday to your husband ๐
Love love love this.
Pinning.
I have both of these pinned for Father’s Day next year! Your kids are so adorable ๐

What a great idea! Pictures look great! ๐ It is so hard to get them to do what you want for pictures isn’t it?
I can never get them to all look in the same direction. This was as good as it gets for us.
Thanks Babe!!
