My husband and I have been discussing homeschooling.
I am all for it.
He has a few reservations.
After seeing the vast knowledge I have instilled in our children, clearly displayed in the following video, he is sure to change his mind.
Program note: The two giving remotely appropriate answers? They go to school.
Ahem.

Homeschooling, huh? Never in a million years would I attempt that. You are a better mom than me.
And your children are sublime. Especially little Sawyer. He is so much like Lucas. I wish we lived closer so we could have regular play dates.
I am so in love with Sawyer. I love little boys. He is just too darn adorable. I love his hair too. A little Matthew McConaughey via Dazed and Confused. Too cute. I think your daughter has a little obsession with piggies. It’s ok because bacon and ham and sausage are awesome. Love the teens answers. Just can’t wait for that. It was too sweet that she grabbed her sister for what she was thankful for. Buzz Lightyear was awesome. I love kids that run around in costumes all day. It looks like you have quite a fun bunch! I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving.
I’m thankful for little boys dressed like Buzz Lightyear.
Nothing better. In the whole wide world.
Except maybe sisters who are thankful for each other.
And younger brothers who can’t decide how old they are.
Yep. It’s a tough call.
But we sure have a whole lot to be thankful for this year…
Too cute. Love how persistent mom was in getting answers! Sounds like your Thanksgiving dinner will be interesting with all the bacon and buzz light year eating! lol!
I love that Parker is dressed as Buzz and McKenna is obsessed with piggies – bacon on T-Giving doesn’t sound like a bad idea! Loved the video – all your kids are adorable (and hilarious)!
Aw, I can’t tell you how much I liked this video! Your kids are super cute and they won’t let themselves to be influenced. They have their own ideas about Thanksgiving, like eating Buzz and stuff. You never know, you might run out of bacon? Giggle ๐
Aww, I can’t tell you how much I liked this video! Your kids are super cute and they won’t let themselves to be influenced. They have their own ideas about Thanksgiving, like eating Buzz and stuff. You never know, you might run out of bacon? Giggle ๐
I love the video. All your kids show their bright ideas and they’re cute. But Sawyer looked adorable especially when you adjusted his hair and he replied, “ba, ba.” I also like when he said that he is ready and he is four instead of being two-years-old. Thanks for sharing your video.
Fact: I’d like it to be about pigs and cows moving around. That should 100% be a national holiday.
I am totally for this! My first child is going to star school next year and I am considering the same? But I don;t have a lot of time, what would you suggest?
With all of McKenna’s talk of piggies on Thanksgiving, I’m reminded of the Friends episode in which Monica accidentally cut off Chandler’s toe with a carving knife.
Let’s hope she wasn’t talking about THOSE kinds of piggies. Otherwise, I will politely decline any future invites to Thanksgiving with your family. ๐
This made me so super happy this morning!
Your kids are dolls.
PS. If you make bacon, I’m taking a plane and coming to your house.
Well then bacon it is, buy your plane ticket. Glad we could make you smile.
Your children are too nice to each other.
This was scripted!
This was hilarious! I think the teenage daughter not wanting to participate was priceless and reminds me every day why I want my kids to stay little because boy, oh, boy, do I remember when I was a teenager! Ha!
You can totally borrow him ;).
Oh my gosh, Jessica! That was the cutest video ever! Hope you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Even if you do have to make some bacon ๐
So you’re having a Thanksgiving dinner full of bacon? I’m in!
Your kids are so adorable! And clearly you could homeschool. I mean, look at those awesome math skills!
This was so great!! Isn’t bacon a great thing to be thankful for?
I love this. They are all so adorable, each in his or her own way. Their answers are great. But maybe homeschooling isn’t the best option. For now, anyway. ๐
Between the fact that they don\’t listen or retain pretty much anything I tell them I think they are better off in the school system.
This was adorable. Sounds like your Thanksgiving will be filled with bacon, Buzz Lightyear and a little bit of turkey.
Um, clearly you’re doing something right if the little one can count to 5 ๐
This really made me giggle out loud at work. Too cute.
And I will take that compliment and run with it. Thank you!
Parker and Ashlyn get points for sibling love!
I puffy bacon heart McKenna’s pig references.
I think your video is hysterical because it’s totally kids being kids! Thanks so much for joining in!
I tried so hard to wait until they weren\’t in silly moods but every time I started taping them they went goofy on my again. And the looniest one is my shy one. Most people who know us will not believe that is McKenna, she is usually so serious. So glad you did this link up, I have so much footage of them that I wouldn\’t have otherwise. (yes there were worse parts that I edited out)
Hahahaha! This is so funny! Your kids are adorable.
I love how your teenager kept saying she didnt want to do this–typical teens right? Also? My three year old ALWAYS claims hes 1.
Hilarious! I love all of their answers! So cute!
Nothing wrong about being thankful for Turkey multiple times. Cute video Jessica!
Oh, that’s hilarious! And I love bacon, so I’m on board.
Sawyer’s hair is adorable!! And what a cute crowd of kiddos you have there…
You are totally welcome for our Thanksgiving full of bacon.
Completely hilarious! There’s a little room for improvement though. (just a little) ๐
I think you’ve got a case for homeschooling. Don’t let anyone tell you different. ๐ I love that Ashlyn is the typical teen in this, wanting nothing to do with talking on video. Sawyer is so darn cute at the end counting his numbers. Lanagan was the same way – this is the first age (4) that he has actually said the right age – he always wanted to be older. When he was 2 & 3 he always claimed he was 5.
I know, Ashlyn was actually really into it and then right before I started taping her I said it was going to go on the blog and she went all \”teenager\” on me.
Okay, so you’re not a great teacher. But you’re pretty so all is forgiven.
m.
Well thank you. So you\’re saying if they have my genes we can just skip the whole teaching them about Thanksgiving thing??
Sweet stuff! *Giggle*
Happy Thanksgiving!
Sweet stuff!
I think my video would have looked a lot like yours. Too funny. And that bit at the end…was he kind of trying to negotiate with you on his age? Like, no you’re not gonna give me 4? How about 3? Smart kid.
Your kids are so cute!
My boys would mention butts, too.
Gorgeous, silly kids!
And did you say bacon? ๐
“You’re my only hope.” Way to put the pressure on there Jessica!
I was getting desperate :).
Bacon makes everything better, right?
Sawyer is so stinkin’ cute!
BAHAHAHAHA Sawyer is a CUTIE PIE! Oh my goodness. I am thankful for butts but not bacon.
Bacon sounds great to me too!
An all bacon Thanksgiving sounds like a great idea.
Oh sweet friend, this? Is gold!
{And we *might* eat piggies -or Buzz- you never know!}
xo
I don’t know Jessica. I think you could edit that video to just show Sawyer counting to five. Duh, your homeschool curriculum is just very focused on the math right now ๐ You will get to social studies next week.
Thank you Angela, I really should have just showed the clip of Sawyer, his cuteness erases the rest of the pig and butt talk.
