We wrapped up Aladdin Junior in February. My absolute favorite part of the show was having a junior costumer this time who just happened to be Parker.
Costuming a show with my son was such an awesome experience. He’s great at sewing and there’s nothing like having someone right there at a sewing maching, ready to do whatever you need.
Here are a few of the costume ideas from the show and where you can find the pieces that we didn’t make ourselves:
Agrabahns
For the Agrabahns I went with jewel tones and lots of flowy pants and skirts with peasant tops. We made a few vests out of jewel toned fabrics but most of these pieces were purchased on Amazon.
Genie Entourage
Jasmine’s attendants
Agrabahn kids
Here’s a closer look at our cute villagers. This is the skirt she’s wearing and his shirt. I mixed and matched lots of sets so no one was in all one color:
Jafar
Jasmine
Aladdin and Jasmine
Raja and Abu
We chose to do Raja and Abu with more of a human look with animal touches. For Raja I found the perfect tiger outfit, added ears and a tail and a little face paint. She turned out adorable!
For Abu we found a small brown outfit in our theater’s storage area and added additional fabric so that he would match Aladdin.
