I owe my life, two of my pregnancies and the lives of three of my children to the funding and research behind the March of Dimes.
Nothing like starting a post with a little drama huh?
But it is true.
I had two extremely difficult pregnancies that involved bedrest and hospital stays and expert physicians with the training and knowledge they needed, to know when to get my babies out and what could happen to my body and their little lives, if they did not.
The March of Dimes has been fighting for healthy pregnancies, healthy babies and happy families since 1938. They have made pregnancies longer, NICU stays shorter and given many, many lives a chance who may not have had one otherwise.
Our family has been through a bit of everything but there is no other cause, no other mission more important to me than that of the March of Dimes.
Every year, along with a team of amazing family and friends, we walk in the March for Babies and fundraise our butts off, because it’s the least we can do.
If you notice over there in my sidebar I am still hoping to reach my goal this year and would love a donation —–>
BUT… best part coming…
I have one more opportunity to raise even more.
Parenting for Dummies is hosting a contest sponsored by Moments in Frames.
The two blog posts with the most comments will win $250 from Moments in Frames towards the charity of their choice.
So please, please, please comment. You can tell me about your connection to the March of Dimes or your new dog or your bowling score, I don’t care. Just leave me a comment so I can win $250 to give to the March of Dimes… a small gift for all they have given me.
Only one comment counts per commenter. Thank you so much!!
I am participating in a blogging promotion sponsored by Moments in Frames to help raise money for March of Dimes. Please help us reach our goal by leaving a comment. Each comment you leave me could earn $1 (up to $250) for March of Dimes.

Good luck! March of dimes is an amazing organization.
Yes.
Just yes.
I am so happy to help! My daughter was born at 23 weeks, weighing 13 ounces. Because of the research and techniques funded by March of Dimes, she survived her 19-week hospital stay and came home perfectly healthy. Now, at 5 years old, she walks right alongside me each year. What a great cause!
Awesome! Thank you for doing this
Step by step … much love to you xxx
Certainly a wonderful cause to back. Good luck!
I too am so thankful for the work that March of Dimes is doing.
When I was little, my mom used to go door to door to raise money for this cause. My sister was a premie and their research helped her 20-some years ago.
MOD is my go-to charity – I try to donate, even if only a little bit, every year. Ever since I became a mother, its mission just speaks to my heart. Plus, I’ve watched friends fight the good fight with their own preemies. Happy to help you in your efforts, Jess. 🙂
Yay for shorter nicu stays!!
I was extremely lucky that my twin pregnancy went a smoothly as it did. The March of Dimes is an amazing organization, and if I could do more than comment I would! Off to tweet about this now 🙂
For a reason as noble as that, who can resist writing a comment here?

Best of luck to you as you pursue this project – it is so generous of Paula Foster/Moments in Frames to do this!
Being the mother of 2 preemies, one a 24 week micro preemie I am 100% behind the March of Dimes. They are an amazing organization. We spent 3.5 months in the NICU and watched miracle after miracle happen not only to our family but to those around us! Without the March of Dimes, I’m not sure how much of the help we received would have been in place.
I can’t thank the March of Dimes enough for the wonderful work they do for Preemies and High Risk Pregnancies. Good luck to you Jessica on your mission. I would love to help in any way I can!
What a great thing you are participating in.
I hope you win! I also endured bedrest, many hospital stays and babies in the NICU. God bless the March of Dimes!!!
March of DImes is an amazing organization, and anything I can do to help them, and you, I will gladly do.

I’m so glad MoD was there for you and your family. What a great organization! ps: I just gave $5 at Publix to MoD today 🙂
Good Luck!!
Crossing fingers and toes that you win! And no, I won’t share my bowling score.
I will get my dog to comment about my bowling score. Hank only had a brief stay in the NICU and it was horrible. The thought of a longer stay or not bringing a baby home at all is heart breaking. The March of Dimes does great things.
I love what you’re doing. WHat an amazing cause.
I am going to share this /pass it along and I hope you win!
xoxo

Wonderful organization–Good luck to you!
We made homemade play doh yesterday while I pretended I was all crafty and put together like you.
Buy really I was in my pajamas and Alex broke a wine glass and I almost burned the play doh.
In ye end it turned out pretty well. Now I just have to hide the play doh so it doesn’t end up in my carpet
Um, that sounds exactly like what happens to me. Did you read my fb status about getting my head lodged under my laundry organizer? Just call me Martha.
If only I could comment again and again just to reach the 250 comments you need. I hope the goodness for you and your family. God is with you. Always.
I love that you are doing this! What a wonderful project!
My son came out healthy…but my heart broke when we walked past all the strained worried faces by the NIcU. I felt guilty for walking past them.
I’ll never forget that.
It makes you so thankful for every chubby ounce of health your baby has.
Good luck Jessica. So proud of you for all the drive you have for this cause xoxo

You are the strongest mom I’ve ever “met”. You have inspired me so much as a first-time mom and I wish your family nothing but happiness and God’s blessings.
Great work March of Dimes. My mom use to go door to door collecting for MOD back in the 60’s. Thank you for making a difference in so many little lives and the families who love them.

Best of luck in the contest. March of Dimes is truly wonderful!
Hope you get the money. Good luck!
My firstborn was a surprise 34 week premie. We had no indications on anything other than a normal pregnancy, other than the OB freaking out because the baby was estimated at 7 lbs 2 days before my water broke. Since my second dd was 9 lbs 12 oz at full term, (dd1 was 6 lbs 10 oz at 34+5) I believe we just grow them big at our house.
March of dimes does great work!
Good Luck! Crossing my fingers for you!
Hoping you win!!

Happy to leave a comment for such a good cause. My E says hello. She was the tiniest of my trio at 3lbs10oz. Born at 32w5d she was the second home in 15 days. If she hadn’t failed the carseat test, she’d have been home before 2w. Hope you win!
