My husband is not a jewelry wearer and he’s not a lover of framed quotes. I’ve looked for something meaningful to get for him for years. I wanted to find something he can carry with him every day that is a reminder of Hadley. Something more subtle than a necklace with her name on it but less painful than a tattoo across his back (he’s also not really a tattoo guy).
We have a photo he took of the kids last summer where they are all hugging and rays from the sun are streaming down over their heads. Neither of us can look at the picture with out feeling a little whisper of her hello.

Oh my gosh! I love this idea! I always struggle with finding something meaningful to give to my husband as a gift. He’s not a gift guy at all–but I think this would actually speak to him.

We lost my niece in October of ’09 and we remember her and “see” her all the time by way of rainbows and ladybugs. My sister gave my husband, who is a fighter pilot in the USAF, a little glass ladybug that he carries in his flight suit on every flight. He also carries the Saint Christopher medal that I gave him engraved with my initials and those if our children and our dog!! It’s little things like these that men like, stuff you can’t see but that they hold close to their hearts.
My husband was in the Air Force as well. Love that your husband carries those symbols with him.
